Our Co-operative Values

SHREC’s philosophy as a company is to be found in the co-operative ideals which provide its business model.

SHREC’s founder, Andy Wilson, a Co-operative Party member for more than 25 years, has always aimed to apply its principles during his long HR career in the public sector. SHREC believes that society operates best on a model of co-operation as opposed to espousing the values of a ‘free market’. SHREC recognises that Schools are unique communities and will work with staff to maximise organisational improvement, so that children and young people are supported by a structure which enables them to achieve their potential.

As part of our co-operative philosophy, we aim to allocate 5% of our income to community based initiatives, local and international. Examples of these include:

Everton in the Community       Unicef

Our Co-operators and Associates

As a cooperative, SHREC is committed to treating its employees as partners with a stake in its future. This has a positive impact on client Schools as we are all committed to long-term relationship management to improve and grow our cooperative. We do not have any shareholders and everyone participates in the success of SHREC.
